Impact of acute and chronic regular exercise on arterial stiffness and reflection measures in coronary artery disease patients

Description

This study was a prospective, single-blind, randomized study examining the effects of exercise on arterial stiffness. The study has been approved by the Institutional Ethics Committee, Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University, Jaipur on April10, 2021. This proposed trial has been registered with ClinicalTrials.gov ID: CTRI//2021/10/037127. This dataset is composed of Pulse wave velocity, Augmentation index, Heart rate, Systolic and diastolic blood pressure from 84 subjects with coronary artery disease. Data was collected from tertiary care hospital for a period of one year from October, 2021 to September, 2022 in North India. Subjects were selected using systematic sampling techniques having CAD (n=84; 21 per group) and was randomized to one of four treatment groups (Group-I: aerobic exercise, Group-II: resistance exercise, Group-III: combined aerobic and resistance exercise, and Group-IV: control group). Subjects of Groups I, II and III undergone 8 weeks of supervised training, three times per week in accordance with recommended guidelines from American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Group IV was the control group.
