Description

This dataset accompanies the study Use of the terms sex and gender in Brazilian nursing dissertations and theses. It contains the analytical matrix used for conceptual evaluation, the data extraction instrument, the public analytical dataset of 58 studies, the R script used to reproduce the statistical analyses, and supporting documentation. The materials are provided to promote methodological transparency and reproducibility of the analyses.

Steps to reproduce

Download all files and save them in the same directory. Open Script_analise_estatistica.R in R (version 4.4.2 or compatible). Ensure that the packages readxl, dplyr, stringr, and tibble are installed. Run the complete script. The script imports the Banco_publico worksheet from Banco_analitico_58_estudos.xlsx, recalculates the analytical matrix scores, the standardized conceptual adequacy score (0–10), the final classification, descriptive statistics, publication periods, and Fisher's exact test with Monte Carlo simulation (2,000 replicates). The expected main results are: n=58; mean score≈8.58; median=8.87; SD≈2.15; 52 studies classified as conceptually adequate, 3 as partially adequate, and 3 as inadequate; Fisher's exact test p≈0.326. See README.txt for additional information.
