Description

Experimental paradigm This data set consists of Tri-axial accelerometer measurements of fetal movement from 13 subjects. This data set consists of three different classes, namely mother’s laugh (class 1), mother’s respiratory movements (class 2) and fetal movements (class 3). A single session was recorded for each subject. Each session lasted for approximately 10 to 20 minutes. Initially the subject was requested to fill out the following form. 1. Subject’s age : ……………………………………………………… 2. Fetal age : ……………………………………………………… 3. Gender of the fetal : ……………………………………………………… 4. Number of previous pregnancies : ……………………………………… 5. Other : ……………………………………………………… At the beginning of each session the sensor was fixed and the subject was instructed to settle in to a comfortable position. She was then instructed to press the corresponding button on the device when she feel a fetal movement. And the button corresponding to mother’s laugh was pressed by an experimenter. Data recording MPU 9250(a Tri-axial accelerometer) was used to record data. It has an inbuilt 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope. The MPU 9250 is a passive device which measures the fetal vibration incident on the maternal abdomen. This is used considering the health benefits of the mother and the baby. The signal was sampled at 280Hz. All the data was recorded and transferred to a PC.
