U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Coastal Assessment, Northeast, 2000-2006
Description
The US Environmental Protection Agency's National Coastal Assessment surveyed the condition of the nation's coastal resources by creating an integrated, comprehensive monitoring program among the coastal states, 2000-2006. To answer broad-scale questions on environmental conditions, EPA and its partners have collected estuarine and coastal data from thousands of stations along the coasts of the continental United States. The Northeast region consists of northeastern states from Maine through Virginia. The Northeast Summary Databases contain analytical data organized by type (e.g., nutrients, sediment toxicity, benthic abundance, etc.). Data files are in .csv format and metadata files are in .pdf format. The data have received a quality assurance review designed to catch obvious transcription and formatting errors and questionable data.
