Description

It was determined biomass combustion parameters such as ignition and burnout temperatures (Ti, Tb) and indices (Di, Db), the comprehensive combustibility index (S), the combustion index (Hf), and the flame stability index (Fi) . Also, a full characterizations of each fuel was made (proximate and ultimate analysis, ash composition analysis, heating values). Data were obtained through thermogravimetric analysis of biomasses from the Galicia–North Portugal Euroregion. The samples tested were raw, nonwoody biomasses and animal-derived biomasses. Nonwoody biomass samples containing 2% of kaolin and 2% of calcium carbonate were also tested. Additivies can fight ash-related issues via chemical reactions. A database with information on different biofuels is a promising way to assess combustion performance and identify suitable energy sources. This can be applied to different local biomasses worldwide to promote waste management and sustainable heat production.
