Description

This research data is derived from a qualitative research study performed by Dr. Johnson. It is set within the building industry and the topic is applicable to Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contracts related to contemporary architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) services. Participation in this research required a certain set of skills, experience, and exposure to integrated projects as found in contemporary practice. The sample was selected from the metropolitan Detroit, Michigan region of the U.S. Tables 2.0 and 2.1 identify various demographic elements of the research participants who voluntarily took part in this study. In these tables the first column represents the Research Participant (or RP) number. Next comes the Type of Practitioner (i.e., architect or engineer with or without PM experience); the Gender of each; Ethnicity; Location of Practitioner; Age Group; Number of Years in the AEC Industry; and Level of Experience with IPD respectively. All participants were within the ages of 21 to 62.

Steps to reproduce

Subsequent reproduction of this study must include, but is not limited to the required implementation of an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis methodology. This is a qualitative design that explores and incorporates very detailed lived experiences of a minimum of 8 research participants. Each participant must have the same professional backgrounds and experience levels as shown in the demographics tables provided here. Personal and private interviews must be conducted on these participants using the same 10-question interview protocol previously developed by Dr. Johnson. A similar informed consent document is recommended but may be modified to fit the current research regulations that apply to the study. There are a few other steps but these are the initial and primary steps that will help any future investigator conduct the same type of study.
