Data for reusability check-based refinement of a biophysical fishpond model

Description

Data is organized in the following folders: Folder „Measured_data”: This folder contains MS Excel files with the raw measurement data, and a file with filtered data regarding DO, N and P measurements (with Matlab DataClean). Folder „Simulation”: „Calculation formulas and parameters”: This folder contains the description about the PPS model formulas (program prototypes) and parameters, highlighting also the changes, compared to the reference model. „Native_files_and_results”: This folder contains the native input files for the PPS simulation and the simulated results. It is further broken to sub-folders that contain data files regarding: • the normal simulations. • the hypothetically extended model with the consideration of cyanobacteria, as well as • test simulations for scaling up • results of additional validation regarding experiments from year 2014. In the first three cases, sub-folders contains the simulation data, named according to the five experimental pilot ponds (2021CS6, 2021CS7, 2022CS2, 2022CS3 and 2022CS6). Sub-folders contain 14 files, that cover: • necessary input files for the simulation, as well as • the simulated results. Simulation_outputs_2014 contains the output files of 3*2 parallel experiments, made with fish oil-, plant oil-, crop-based feed. Detailed description of the files can be found in the "Steps to reproduce" part.

Steps to reproduce

The Simulation/Native_files_and_results folder are further broken to sub-folders that contain the input and output files of the simulations. Each simulation folder contains the following files for PPS model generation and about the simulated output, as follows: • Core.pl: file, containing the control parameters of the simulation • Datasupply.pl: contains the meteorological data, as well as the managerial actions. Content of file: Year,Month,Day,AirTemp(C),WaterTemp(C),WindSpeed(m/s),Precip(mm/day),ACoeff(nd),WaterSupply(m3/day),Radiation(W/m2),ModeofWaterSuppoly(nd),DepthofPond(cm),ForageSupply(kg/ha/day),FertilizerSupply(t/ha/day),NwithSuppliedWater(kg/m3),PwithSuppliedWater(kg/m3),NwithSuppliedWaterAvg(kg/m3),PwithSuppliedWaterAvg(kg/m3) • Lake_N.pl: textual description of PPS model elements (states, transitions, dlists, as well as the connections between the state and transition elements) • Lake_G_prot.graphml: contains the calculating formulas (local programs) of the various model prototypes, described in the Calculation formulas_and_parameters.xlsx, in detail • Make_D.pl: contains the initial values and parameters of the model (described in Calculation formulas_and_parameters.xlsx, in detail) These files can be executed with the general simulation kernel of PPS (executable file can be requested upon interest from Monika Varga, varga.monika@uni-mate.hu). System requirements are Windows 11 64 bit, 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM. After simulation, the following files are generated: • Exp.pl: auxiliary intermediate file of the simulation, contains the prototype elements (both states and transitions) of the underlying PPS model • Use.pl: auxiliary intermediate file of the simulation, contains the actual values of state and transition elements (initial values, parameters) of the underlying PPS model • Out.csv: native results of simulation • Out_plots.xlsx: processed results of simulation General description about PPS modeling method can be found at (Varga and Csukás, 2022), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.inpa.2022.10.001
