Description

This dataset includes a collection of individual measurements of bedding, foliation and fold axes in the East Spanish-Portuguese Central System, located in Central Iberia (Spain). Data were collected in 2021 and 2022. Planar and linear data are divided into several groups, depending on the type and time of formation. Bedding is referred to as S0, but the data are divided into strata formed during the Variscan cycle (crystalline basement) and strata formed during the Alpine cycle (cover). Foliation measurements refer to the orientation of the local main foliation formed during Variscan deformation and metamorphism. Fold axes are divided into those related to structures formed during the Variscan Orogeny and those formed during the Alpine Orogeny. Plane measurements are given as dip direction and dip, while line measurements are given as plunge and trend. The structural dataset includes UTM coordinates (Zone 29, European Datum 1950) indicating the location of individual measurements.
