Description

This dataset contains a synthetic wind speed time series at 0.5 Hz (2-second interval) for the Santos Basin pre-salt region, offshore Brazil (−22.75° S, 40.5° W), representative of the Búzios oil field area (~180 km offshore, ~1,900 m water depth). The series was generated from ERA5 reanalysis hourly wind components (u100, v100) at 100 m height, covering the period January 2020 to December 2025 (52,608 source records, no missing values, mean wind speed 11.25 m/s). Turbulence fluctuations were synthesized in the frequency domain using the Kaimal spectral model in accordance with IEC 61400-1 Ed. 3, Normal Turbulence Model (NTM), Class B (I_ref = 0.14). The dataset is suitable for wind turbine dynamic load simulation, fatigue analysis, offshore structural assessment, and benchmarking of wind signal synthesis methods. Contains modified Copernicus Climate Change Service information 2020–2025.
