Description

The dataset includes data of a subsample of the German longitudinal study BiKS 3-13 of Wave 1,5,11, and 12 (age 3;8 years; 5;8 years; 12;8 years, and 13;7 years) and refers to the manuscript "Theory of mind, language, and reading: Developmental relations from early childhood to early adolescence.". It includes measures of children’s age, sex, theory of mind, language competencies, nonverbal cognitive abilities, working memory, family HISEI, and language background. Study Design: In the present study, we included a subsample of a German longitudinal study. This subsample was tested in ToM at Wave 5 of the more comprehensive study. We also encompassed measures of children’s language competencies, nonverbal cognitive abilities and working memory at Wave 1 as baseline measures. Wave 1 took place 2 years earlier than Wave 5 in the year 2005. We further encompassed measures of Wave 11 and 12 that took place 7 and 8 years after Wave 5. At Wave 11 we included a measure of children’s advanced ToM and at Wave 12 for children’s oral text comprehension and reading comprehension
