Description

Adolescents exercise personal agency as they set goals, draw plans, make decisions and perform actions to form life course. The goal of the study was to develop and validate a scale to measure personal agency in adolescence that was applicable to a collectivist culture. The current dataset contains scores of the initial 86 items intended to be used for Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) for item reduction and factorial analysis. Data were collected from adolescent school students aged from 14 to 17 from urban and rural setting, from the state of Kerala, India.

Steps to reproduce

Data were gathered using questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of demographic information and the items intended to be used for the EFA. The respondents were asked to rate each item on a scale of 1= very rarely to 5 = always. All ethical requirements were met.
