The dataset contains raw and calculated data in plots sampled in Nyungwe forest. The research hypothesis was to find out the recent vegetation structure after wildfires occurred in this forest between 1997 and 1998 which created large canopy gaps and clearings which enabled the establishment of light tolerant species such as Pteridium aquilinum and quickly colonized the burnt areas . The dataset consists of spreadsheet in excel containing species and families composition, presence-absence field observations ( 0/1) , number of individuals of each species and its relative frequency. The presence/ absence observations were improved not only to calculate the number of individuals and relative frequency but also were used to delineate communities indices by using MVSP ( Multiavaiates statistical package) software and calculate species diversity indices by using Shannon-Weiner formula of the same software . Species composition was improved to compare the post fire vegetation and the previous one. Grouping communities was improved to look at which species associated with the dominant Pteridium species in communities. Diversity indices were calculated to evaluate species index, evenness and richness in each plot and then each community. With these results, we came out with conclusion after comparison of individualized communities and the vegetation was attributed. Any researcher of data is allowed to use other programming language for any purpose of research hypothesis different from mine.
