Microcredentials in education to improve the employability of Latin American universities
Description
This systematic review aimed to determine the universities in Latin America that have implemented microcredentials in the training of dentists, analyzing their impact on the employability of graduates. However, the study revealed a complete absence of eligible articles that met the inclusion criteria, highlighting a significant gap in the academic literature on this topic. Despite the increasing global recognition of microcredentials as effective tools to address specific skill gaps and enhance employability, no empirical studies documenting their application in the field of dentistry within the region were identified. In the published book by Romero-Rostagno (2024) relevant data on microcredentials in Ibero-America are appreciated, and for this research some data on universities and the microcredentials they offer to their undergraduate and graduate students were extracted and updated.
