Description

Based on this data, we conclude that young rats display more potential to combat HFD-induced oxidative and hyperlipidemic stress compared to aged rats. We hypothesize that a low antioxidant capacity and a high level of reactive oxygen species in aged rats could be responsible for the observed effects. The study strengthens growing scientific opinion in support of an HFD induced oxidative stress, particularly during old age.
