Description

This dataset provides a comprehensive overview of 50 top global automotive brands, offering insights into various facets of their identity and market presence, with a particular focus on their logo design elements. Each entry in the dataset represents a unique automotive brand and includes the following attributes: 1. Auto Brand: The name of the automobile manufacturer (e.g., Audi, Ford, Toyota). 2. Origin: The primary country where the brand originated (e.g., Germany, USA, Japan). 3. Parent / Holding Group: The larger corporate entity that owns the brand, if applicable (e.g., Volkswagen Group, General Motors). 4. Headquarters: The main administrative location of the brand. 5. Establishment Year: The year the brand was established, providing historical context. 6. Units Sold (M): The approximate number of units sold globally in millions, offering an indication of market volume. 7. Logo Description: A textual summary detailing the symbolic meaning and key features of the brand's logo. 8. Logo Design Elements (Binary Flags): These columns indicate the presence (1) or absence (0) of specific design elements within the brand's primary logo: A. Abstract Mark: Presence of a non-representational graphic symbol. B. Pictorial Mark: Presence of a recognizable image (e.g., animal, object). C. Letter Mark: Presence of stylized initials or an acronym. D. Wordmark: Presence of the full brand name in a distinctive font. E. Combination: Indicates if the logo is a combination of multiple elements (e.g., abstract mark + wordmark). 9. Specific Pictorial Symbolism (Binary Flags): These columns denote the inclusion of particular types of pictorial marks, useful for categorizing symbolic themes: A. Birds & Wings: Indicates the presence of bird or wing imagery. B. Horses & Horns: Indicates the presence of horse or horn imagery. C. Lions & Jaguars: Indicates the presence of lion or jaguar imagery. D. Emblem & Shields: Indicates the presence of a crest, badge, or enclosed design. This rich dataset enables detailed analysis of branding strategies, cultural influences on design, and correlations between visual identity and market performance within the global automotive industry.

1. The research is based on secondary data collected from the official websites of the respective brands, ensuring that the data is accurate and up to date. 2. This study used the top 50 automobile brand logos [N=50].
