Description

Ecological Dimensions of Cultures (EDC) dataset was initially developed as part of a research on parasite stress theory of sociality and values. It contains data of collectivism, average GDP (from 1960-2000), the number of epidemics and natural disasters along with the number of people killed, injured, or affected by epidemics and natural disasters that happened since 1900 to 2000, historical pathogen prevalence for 188 countries, and average Tuberculosis incidence (all forms) for 2000-2020. This dataset can be used for explanatory analysis or hypothesis significance testing in ecological psychology, and teaching statistical issues related to non-normal distributions, non-independence of data points, correlation and regression, and hierarchical modeling.
