Description

Information was produced through mixed techniques used in the different projects from June 2017 to October 2019: official data search and document analysis, formation of research groups, from which in- depth interviews and participant observation were conducted, with registration in field diaries. The search for official data and document analysis was the procedure adopted to update the socio-demographic and epidemiological profile of the population under study. The formation of the research group (GP) took place according to the following steps:1. Agreement meetings with the services to present the projects and visits in each of the territories, recorded in field diaries; 2. Identification of community leaders, through the indication of health professionals and/or prior knowledge of researchers.; 3. Conducting in-depth interviews with community leaders and important people in the community, guided by key axes, respecting the discursive construction of the subjects. In this text, the interviews of 04 leaders were considered, composed of 03 women and 01 man who are aged between 30 and 65 years, with incomplete basic level education. One of them works in a philanthropic institution in the community, another is retired, obtaining financial resources through a grocery store in the neighborhoods, another is retired and the other works in fishing and odd jobs, but has already worked in an important steel mill in the municipality.
