This repository holds publicly available weather data which has been extracted from .tiff and NetCDF to Stata format at points over Kenya. The original source of the rainfall data is: http://www.climatedatalibrary.cl/SOURCES/.NOAA/.NCEP/.CPC/.FEWS/.Africa/.DAILY/.ARC2/.daily/index.html?Set-Language=en The original source of the temperature data is: https://www.rccap.org/data/item/592e5bcf82f97 It also holds the replication files for the paper titled: Insure or Unsure? The Role of Negative and Positive Basis Risk in Weather Index Insurance Uptake in Kenya, authored by S J Vosper and F Cecchi. The remaining data files to run these replication files need to be requested from the authors as this contains proprietary data of the insurance provider.
