The dataset entitled "Psychological impact of COVID-19 on psychiatric patients" entails 168 anonymous web survey responses of adults with psychiatric disorders from Saudi Arabia. The dataset entitled "General public sample" comprises 992 anonymous web survey responses of normal Saudi adults. Respondents have given digital informed consent for the data to be analyzed for prospective studies. Instruments involved in data collection include: a) The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21;Lovibond & Lovibond, 1995); b) The Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R); c) COVID-related knowledge, perceptions/attitudes, use of precautionary measures, health change and; e) socio-demographic clinical information.
