Description
The dataset provides experimental data on water absorption and tensile properties of bio-based poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) composites containing nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) of 5, 10, 20, 30, and 50 wt.% (5NFC, 10NFC, 20NFC, 30NFC, 50NFC, respectively). PBS/NFC composite films (thickness 0.2 mm) were produced by solution casting. The effect of humid environment (RH = 98%, T = 22 °C; denoted as RH98) and hot distilled water (T = 50 °C; denoted as W50) on tensile properties was studied. Data can be useful for modelling water absorption of biopolymer/NFC based composites and assessment of the NFC reinforcement efficiency under the environmental impact.
