Description

This supplemental material provides information on the demographics of psoriasis and control patients as well as detailed methods on the controlled case analysis performed on psoriasis and autoimmune comorbidities using the All of Us database. Our hypothesis predicted that psoriasis patients would have an increased prevalence of autoimmune diseases compared to control patients. This data was gathered from All of Us to carefully match controls to the demographics of psoriasis patients among factors such as age, sex, race, ethnicity, and smoking status, as reflected in the Supplemental Table. The supplemental material from the Supplemental Methods document also highlights the clear steps on the methodology behind this process, which included a carefully matched case control study to determine whether there is a strong association between psoriasis and autoimmune diseases. The prevalence of these comorbidities among psoriasis patients was detected using data gathered from the All of Us database.
