Description

This dataset contains field observations and derived variables used to analyse sediment transport regimes at the Misa River estuary, located on the central Adriatic coast of Italy. The dataset includes wave conditions, tide-gauge water levels, precipitation, river water level and discharge, HEC-RAS-derived discharge time series, and turbidity, suspended sediment concentration (SSC), and water-level measurements from three in-river probes. The dataset also includes analyses of sediment samples collected by a bi-directional sediment trap (in the final river stretch). The data were used to investigate the relative role of river discharge, waves, tide, and meteorological forcing in controlling turbidity, sediment resuspension, transport direction, and net sediment transport toward the sea.
