Noble Gases in Cloud Water
This is a companion dataset for the Water Resources Research paper "Anomalous Noble Gas Solubility in Liquid Cloud Water: Possible Implications for Noble Gas Temperatures and Cloud Physics" by Hall, Castro, Scholl, Amalberti and Gingrich. We show that noble gases in liquid cloud water droplets are not in solubility equilibrium with the atmosphere. This has implications for using noble gases to pinpoint groundwater recharge areas in fractured media within mountainous areas. A mechanism is proposed to explain both helium excess and heavy noble gas depletion. FogSoftware.pdf contains software used to model noble gas uptake into rain droplets. SuppInfoNGTTable.xlsx contains detailed noble gas data. SuppInfoPublished.pdf has supplementary equations and figures.
