The Malaysian Agriculture and Plantation Greenhouse Gas Equilibrium Model (MAPGEM) predicts the economic impact of white root rot disease infecting the Malaysian rubber trees. MAPGEM forecasts land use, resources, prices, production, domestic consumption, imports, exports, and greenhouse gases between 2023 and 2068. It includes banana, cocoa, coconut, durian, forest, kenaf, mango, oil palm, papaya, pepper, pineapple, rambutan, rice, rubber, and waste biomass. MAPGEM allows the study of white root rot disease spreading across Malaysia. MAPGEM will enable farmers to transfer the infected land to oil palm plantations. The farmers can pay an annual treatment costs to save their rubber plantations.
