Data for: Permeability of microporous volcanic rocks in vapor-dominated geothermal systems: A case study from Los Humeros, Mexico.
Description
The seven analyzed samples are contained in this dataset, from L2 to L7, using L6 a and b as two different lithologies were found in this sample. The FilteredVectors .xlsx files contain two vectors: -The first corresponding to the sample greyscale range after XCT cylinder cropping into a cubic image, and after the double filtering procedure. As filtering and cropping in some cases eliminate part of the greyscale range, the final vector can be less than the 16-bit range initially used. -The second vector corresponds to the voxel count per specific greyscale value. These two vectors are the input files to the ih-house matlab code used to determine microporosity. SubPoreResults .xlsx files contain the results directly obtained from the application of our code, as the main output is an .xlsx file. These results contemplate the following parameters: -Otsu_min: thresholding low value -Otsu_max: thresholding high value -Peak_localization: max voxel count peak greyscale localization -Porosity: macroporosity volume fraction -Intermediate: volume fraction contained between the two Otsu threshold values -Macrosolid: resolved solid fraction -Microporosity: volume fraction of the unresolved porosity -Total_porosity: sum of the macro and micro porosity volume fractions -Microsolid: volume fraction of the unresolved solid phase -Total_solid: sum of micro and macro solid phases -Thresholding-close: total porosity volume fraction which can be obtained using the closest integer greyscale value, which is needed for subsequent segmentation and permeability simulations. -New_thresholding_value: integer greyscale value corresponding to the total_porosity volume fraction. The Circulation Loss and Temperature .txt files, correspond to the CFE provided well data logs used for microporosity correlation.
