Description

SUMO microsimulation traffic flow model for a road arterial. The model includes the infrastructure and traffic flow. Moreover, some fixed time traffic signal programs are implemented (fixed cycle time 90s) - but feel free to adjust these in order to minimize the number of stops of the cars. .sumocfg - general configuration file (in particular referring to the three other files) .net.xml - infrastructure and traffic light signal programs .rou.xml - traffic flow specification .view.xml - just for those who prefer to follow the traffic flow visually... Steps to reproduce

- symmetric bidirectional urban road arterial with two lanes per direction - 11 junctions with traffic lights along 3km (similarly to Prenzlauer Allee, Berlin, Germany) - traffic flow essentially arbritrary - driving times selected such that these are far way from the ideal values of half the cycle time (90s) when cars are moving with the progression speed
