Maps of modeled concentration of Nitrogen and Sulfur components and Nitrogen deposition in the W Iberian Peninsula

Description

Concentration and deposition maps resulting from atmospheric chemical transport modeling, using FRAME (Fine Resolution Atmospheric Multi-pollutant Exchange, version number 9-15-0) for a domain including the western Iberian Peninsula, for 2015. Maps are provided at 5 km×5 km resolution in GeoTiff format relative to the local Portuguese datum Lisboa Hayford Gauss IGeoE (https://epsg.io/102164), and include: Mean air concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in ug/m3; Mean air concentration of ammonia (NH3) in ug/m3; Mean concentration in the precipitation of ammonium (NH4+) in mg N/L; Mean concentration in the precipitation of nitrate (NO3-) in mg N/L; Mean concentration in the precipitation of sulfate, excluding the contribution from sea salt (xSO4-2), in mg S/L; Total Nitrogen deposition in kg N/ha.year. Modeling results were evaluated using measurements within the domain and deemed fit for purpose according to acceptance criteria by Hanna & Chang (2012), based on a set of statistical measures of evaluation proposed by Chang & Hanna (2004, 2005).
