The study investigated the correlation between two variants of narcissism (grandiose and vulnerable) and their impact on managerial performance in the workplace. The results indicate that while grandiose narcissism aligns with extraversion and does not significantly predict work performance, vulnerable narcissism, along with neuroticism, predicts lower task performance and is a significant predictor of counterproductive work behavior (CWB). The conclusion drawn suggests that organizations might not benefit from having managers with either grandiose or vulnerable narcissistic traits and should avoid recruiting persons with these tendencies.
