This study investigated the inhibitory effect of three thiazolidinones with piperine skeletons (6a, 7b, and 7e) on TRE activity and assessed their impact on the growth and development of Spodoptera frugiperda. Samples were collected 48 h after the injection of 6a, 7b, 7e, and 2% DMSO for subsequent analyses, including trehalase activities , carbohydrate content, chitin content and chitinase activities. Relative expression of genes were evaluated by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The feeding, growth, and development of treated S. frugiperda larvae were also observed.
