Description

This dataset contains data from the experimental and numerical study of sub-component specimens representative of the tapered carbon spar cap transition of a wind turbine blade. Two configurations of specimens are evaluated. The first configuration has pristine interfaces. The second configuration, referred to as pre-cracked, contains a Teflon insert to create an initial delamination in the tapered interface between the carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and the glass fibre-reinforced polymer (GFRP). The experimental data was collected at AMTEC, Advanced materials testing and consulting SL between February and March 2024. The data is being made public both to act as supplementary data for future publications and for other researchers to use this data in their own work.
