Description

This repository is attached to the following publication: How much district heating in a future sector-coupled energy system? A comprehensive methodology for mapping and clustering the infrastructure costs on an entire territory - Hofmann et al. The following files are provided: - A quick user guide that presents the algorithms and the data provided in this repository, algo-and-data_userguide.pdf - DHN costs from the mapping of the entire French territory at the 400 m x 400 m resolution (cleaned from empty pixels), DHN_potential_FRANCE_raster_r400.csv and DHN_potential_FRANCE_raster_r400_GIS.zip - Algorithms developped to apply the methodology NB : All algorithms are written in Python 3.12.1 with Jupyter Notebooks 7.2.2. Input data used for the French case study can be found here: - Excess heat (from EnRezo project, open access): https://cerema.app.box.com/s/ckhadohdon5toe7ail3zzigo77fuy6v3 - Annual residential and tertiary national heat demand (from EnRezo project, open access): https://cerema.app.box.com/s/80h1p9q62get6rnvhr051sesb4chg4z0 - Building floor surface (from CSTB, not in open access): https://www.cstb.fr/bases-donnees/base-donnees-nationale-batiments - Winter temperature (from ECMWF Reanalysis, open access): https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets/reanalysis-era5-single-levels?tab=overview
