As an initial effort to test the hypothesis that HIIT is a viable non-pharmacological alternative for cardioprotection, we analyzed the effects of HIIT during the compensated phase of hypertension on the structural (anatomical data, echocardiography), functional (echocardiography, isolated papillary muscle), and MAPK signaling (gene expression) of myocardial remodeling in SHRs.
