This data set comprises raw data for FTIR analysis of diopside aggregates under anhydrous and water-saturated conditions, and raw deformation data of anhydrous and water-saturated diopside aggregates deformed at confining pressures of ~300 MPa and temperatures of 1373–1473 K in a Paterson gas-medium apparatus. It can be used to investigate the influence of water on the rheology of diopside aggregates. The results show that water-saturated diopside aggregates are 1.5-3 orders weaker than their anhydrous counterparts.
