Description

This dataset is structured based on a specialized palmar element taxonomy, heavily inspired by Palmistry (Chiromancy) morphology. It encompasses diverse features including hand types, the morphology of the lower Mars mount, pinky finger proportions, and palmar line characteristics (specifically line frequency and the Saturn line). Primary data samples were selected and curated from three widely recognized public databases: 11k Hands Dataset [1], Birjand University Mobile Palmprint Database (BMPD) [2], and COEP Palm Print Database [3]. The dataset is categorized into twelve classes representing heterogeneous features. The hand type category comprises Water, Fire, Earth, and Air classes, while the lower Mars mount is categorized into Low and High classes. The pinky finger is differentiated into Short and Long classes based on its distal position. Furthermore, line frequency is classified as High, Medium, and Low depending on the density of minor lines, and the Saturn line is identified by the presence of a specific vertical line in the central palmar region. The total dataset, including augmented samples generated through saturation adjustment, vertical flipping, and horizontal flipping, consists of 1,000 images. In accordance with the defined distribution, the data was allocated at a ratio of 70% for training, 15% for validation, and 15% for testing.
