The polymerization of acrylamide (AA) is significantly affects the pH of the reaction medium. At low pH and high temperatures, formation of water-insoluble cross-linked polymers is possible due to the creation of imide bridges between the macromolecules (-CO-NH-CO-). Polyacrylamide-PAA crosslinking reactions (formation of three-dimensional structures) are used to obtain water-absorbing products, films, protective coatings and capsules for drugs, seeds, fertilizers. Increased interest in acrylamide and its practical significance are also associated with some of its complexing properties.
