Description
In Supplementary Table 1, we provide for the first time the carbon isotope data from Hirnantian near-shore carbonate rocks at Shichang of Renhuai and Tunping of Shiqian, northern Guizhou, southwestern China. The results indicate the presence of Hirnantian Isotope Carbon Excursion (HICE), hence contributing to a better understanding of the structure of this excursion. In Supplementary Table 2, we present generic lists of benthic faunas from 10 well-studied Ordovician-Silurian boundary sections in South China. The data show the biodiversity changes across the O-Silurian transition in South China, suggesting an overestimate of biodiversity losses of the so-called second pulse of the end-Ordovician mass extinction. Supplementary references are those for Supplementary Table 2.
