Description

The initial phase of this research involves gathering and analyzing data. All gathered data was used for defining the database. The database is a crucial part of every information system. Following the analysis, the collected data needed to be processed to facilitate the creation of models. This research aimed to define a model for water demand prediction in Montenegro. A need for this model is recognized following the fact that the previous practice of designing water supply systems in Montenegro showed that water demand data was adopted, entirely based on recommendations from the literature. In this paper, we used the data taken from the Water Supply company's Vodovod Podgorica, Montenegro, yearly reports. Those data encompass January 2012. – December 2019. period. In addition, data were collected also for January – December 2021. year period. After data collection, their analysis was performed, and determining the input data was performed. The next step was to prepare the analyzed data for model formation. The last step was to define the final model for the prediction of water demand. The input data was taken depending on their direct impact on water demand. Climatological parameters such as average air temperature and precipitation, along with demographic data like the registered number of monthly tourist arrivals, were utilized as input data. Climatological data were taken from the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology's Report. Demographic data were taken from the Statistical Office of Montenegro's monthly Announcements of arrivals and overnight stays of tourists.
