Description

The dataset contains detrital zircon U-Pb ages from sandstone samples collected from Paleogene paleochannel deposits in the Sierra Nevada and western Nevada. Samples correspond with a manuscript to be submitted to Geosphere. Data are presented from 15 new samples in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. File "New_sample_locations" shows the sample locations in decimal degrees. The other files are analytical data spreadsheets from the samples indicated in the filenames.

Analyses were conducted using a Thermo Element2 LA-ICPMS system at the University of Arizona Laserchron Center (https://sites.google.com/laserchron.org/arizonalaserchroncenter/home) in 2015 and 2016. Data reduction was performed using an in-house Excel spreadsheet at the Arizona Laserchron Center. Mineral separations were conducted at the University of Michigan and the University of Arizona using standard crushing, milling, magnetic, and heavy liquid techniques.
