Description

We provide a list of 500 commonly used solvents prepared from 2014-2020. The table consists of information about chemical structure, GHS classification, GHS hazard statements (H), water pollution class (WGK), Hansen Solubility Parameter, boiling temperature, vapor pressure at atmospheric pressure, density, molecular weight, molar volume, cost, CAS-number, and SMILES-code. Furthermore, to classify the toxicity of a solvent we introduce a hazard-factor (HF) based on GHS pictograms categorized into 4 classes.

Steps to reproduce

The table was prepared from 2014-2020. Thus, some information may be outdated, especially the purchase costs. However, the costs of the most solvents are still relatively comparable to each other. Hence, the information is supplied without guarantee and the authors cannot be held liable in the event of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. Due to new technical methods and medical findings, the toxicity-classification might change. Up-to-date information can be found online via CAS-number. HSP information is taken from: HSPiP software GHS classifications, boiling temperatures, vapor pressures, densities, costs and cas-numbers were taken from: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ http://chemspider.com https://www.sigmaaldrich.com https://www.alfa.com
