After the intervention of sending SMS from 13-40 gestational weeks, data were collected on demographics, pregnancy outcome, health care behaviors during pregnancy, state anxiety, and feeling of satisfaction about receiving text messages between intervention and control groups. SPSS version 18 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) was used in all statistical analyses. Descriptive statistics were calculated for all outcomes and demographic data. Cross tabulations between groups were estimated; analyses were performed using the t-test, the Fisher’s Exact test, and chi-square test. Comparisons of pregnancy outcomes and health care behaviours between intervention and control groups were performed using the t-test. In case of non-normal distributions, the Mann-Whitney U-test was considered appropriate.
