Description

Title: Crustal 3-D resistivity models of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt inverted with magnetotelluric array data Creator: Gaofeng YE and Xiangcheng YI Subject: Magnetotelluric model data Description: To obtain the electrical structure and discuss the closure polarity of the Paleo-Asian Ocean, we inverted 210 MT stations of magnetotelluric (MT) array data. The 3D inversion utilizes the ModEM modular inversion code, developed using the Non-Linear Conjugate Gradient (NLCG) method. From 2010 to 2021, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly recorded MT data in and around the central segment of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. The equipment used included the MTU-5A and MTU-5C from Phoenix Geophysics Ltd. Canada, and the SEP system developed by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Some broadband MT (BBMT) data were recorded using the MTU-5A and the SEP system, while some audio MT (AMT) data and BBMT data were simultaneously recorded using the MTU-5C. The BBMT dataset can be pre-processed using SSMT2000, while the AMT+BBMT dataset can be processed using Empower, a commercial software from Phoenix Geophysics. The folder “./ Coordinates” contains file: “MT_Stations.txt”, coordinates of all inverted broadband MT stations in Longitude/Latitude format. The folder “./ 3D model” contains resistivity model from 3D inversion.
