Description

These files contain the results of a numerical simulation of the impact of a vertical bore and a solitary wave on a partially immersed and fixed body. The simulation was performed using one-dimensional shallow water models of the first and the second long-wave approximations. The simplest formulation of the problem is considered when the interaction process does not depend on one of the horizontal coordinates, the bottom of the water basin and the bottom of the body are considered horizontal and its side edges are vertical. The dimensionless results of the calculations of the maximum runups on the front ("Rl/h") and back ("Rr/h") sides of the body, horizontal ("FH/(rgh^2)") and vertical ("FV/(rgh^2)") components of the total wave force as a function of the length ("L/h") and the submergence ("d/h") of the body and the amplitude of the incoming wave ("a/h") are presented, where "h" is the depth of the basin, "r" is the fluid density, "g" is constant gravity acceleration.
