Description

The ALOS, SRTM and ASTER GDEM representation of the study area. The study area is bounded by latitude and longitude in the range 27.1107° to 27.5555° and 54.2362° to 54.6810° respectively corresponding to the central portion of Zagros Ranges in Iran where collision of the Arabian shield with he Eurasian Plate has shortened and thickened the crust to produce a spectacular mountainous physiography. The data are posted on a 1 arc-second grid and horizontally referenced to the 1984 World Geodetic System (WGS84) while the 1996 Earth Gravitational Model (EGM96) geoid is the vertical datum. The very small study area of Zagros Ranges. The resampling (matching) of the 3 DEMs is rather bad (nearest neighbor method was applied)
