Background: The integration of robotic technologies into Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) marks a substantial evolution aimed at enhancing surgical accuracy, shortening recovery times, and improving patient outcomes. Recent advancements in robotic systems are transforming this field. This review provides a comprehensive evaluation of the progress, current uses, advantages, and challenges associated with robotics in OMFS. Objective: The primary objective of this systematic review is to provide a brief yet explanatory analysis of robotics in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, emphasizing the key milestones in the historical advancements, present applications, clinical benefits, technological limitations, and future prospects.
