Steps to reproduce
The data presented in this dataset were collected to support the analysis in a master’s thesis on decentralized finance (DeFi) and cryptocurrency regulation. All datasets are derived from publicly accessible sources and were collected through a combination of structured web queries, platform dashboards, and open analytics tools. No proprietary or confidential data were used. Specifically, the following methods and sources were employed: DappRadar and Stelareum were used to track the historical trends in Total Value Locked (TVL) and lending activity across DeFi protocols such as Aave and MakerDAO. Dune Analytics provided SQL-queryable dashboards and charts on Uniswap’s daily trading volume and user activity. CoinMarketCap and the official MakerDAO portal were consulted to obtain time-series data on the market capitalization of the Dai stablecoin. Project-specific transparency reports and GitHub data from Uniswap, Aave, and Compound were used to support user growth and liquidity flow analyses. Data points used in visual figures were manually recorded and organized into structured tables (Excel format), with annotations indicating source and extraction date. No APIs, scripts, or scraping tools were used; all data were accessed via public dashboards or CSV download options provided by the respective platforms.
