Description

The OECD Economic Outlook Volume 2024/1 highlights global economic challenges, including moderate growth, inflation risks, and labor market slowdowns. The study aligns these insights with a university community service program strategic plan, identifying three key intervention areas: workforce upskilling, mentoring for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and education on inflation stability and financial literacy. The findings suggest that universities can mitigate economic inequality through technology-driven skills training, supporting local entrepreneurship, and fostering multi-sector collaboration. The study underscores the need for technological innovation and evidence-based strategies in developing service programs. Recommendations include aligning education with market demands, integrating technology, and fostering research-based mentoring to achieve a sustainable economic impact, positioning universities as vital agents of change in addressing contemporary economic issues.
