Description

AgriPriceBD is the first publicly available daily multi-commodity retail price dataset for Bangladesh, covering five key agricultural commodities - garlic, chickpea, green chilli, cucumber, and sweet pumpkin - over a five-year period, yielding 1,000+ daily observations per commodity. Prices were extracted from daily government market monitoring PDF reports, using an LLM-assisted digitisation pipeline with bilingual English and Bangla structured prompts. Each record contains wholesale and retail minimum and maximum prices in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) per kilogram. Columns: - date (YYYY-MM-DD) - product name - measurement (kg) - wholesale price minimum - wholesale price maximum - retail price minimum - retail price maximum. Known anomalies: Four green chilli records on 22, 23, 24, and 29 January 2024 contain zero-valued prices due to government portal outages (0.22% of the series). These are retained as-is for transparency.
