Description

The dataset includes individual measurements of structural planes and lines that were collected in the northern part of Guadalajara County (Spain), in 2020 and 2021. Measurements were taken both from the Precambrian and Paleozoic metamorphic basement, and from the Permian, Triassic, Cretaceous and Cenozoic sedimentary rocks, near of villages such as Pálmaces de Jadraque, Angón, Rebollosa de Jadraque, Robledo de Corpes, Cardeñosa, Riofrío del Llano, La Bodera, Naharros and La Miñosa. This structural data was collected during fieldwork campaigns aimed at mapping major structures developed during the Variscan and Alpine orogenies in the region. The dataset is divided into separate spreadsheets that include measurements of: • S0: bedding or primary planar anisotropies related to sedimentation. • S1: first penetrative foliation developed during the Variscan Orogeny. • S2: second penetrative foliation developed during the Variscan Orogeny. • S3: third foliation developed during the Variscan Orogeny. • ML2: mineral lineation related to S2. • SL2: stretching lineation related to S2. • CL2: crenulation lineation related to S2 (formed coevally to S2). • CL3: crenulation lineation related to S3 (formed coevally to S3). • ACL: crenulation lineation related to Alpine folding that affected any aforementioned structural planes. • D2 faults: fault planes that were formed during a second phase of Variscan deformation. • D2 tension gashes: tension gashes that were formed during a second phase of Variscan deformation Plane orientations are reported by their dip direction and dip, whereas line orientations are described by their trend and plunge. The location of each individual measurement is provided using ETRS89 Datum (UTM Zone 30) and expressed in UTM coordinates (in meters), including Northing and Easting.
