Experimental data used in the return stroke model

Description

Magnetic field data used in the paper by Kaspar et al. entitled "Model of the electromagnetic radiation of the first lightning return stroke using bidirectional leader concept (Figs. 4a,c,e and 5a,c,e) for comparison of the model with experimental data. The magnetic-field waveforms were recorded by the broadband magnetic loop antenna. The times of the return stroke pulse onset and the locations of lightning for 6 shown events were provided by the French national lightning detection network Meteorage and are available in the table 2 in the paper. The location of the loop antenna for individual events is also available in the paper.

Steps to reproduce

The data are organized in ASCII files, the file names correspond to the figure panels. The data files contain time series of magnetic field samples in nT units. The sampling cadence is 12 ns.
