Description

This dataset consists of X-ray images that capture the growth process of pore clogging and data analyzed to visualize it. Suspended fine particles(powdered activated carbon; Yakuri co., Kyoto, Japan) with water are flown through a water-saturated sand pack(Ottawa 20/30 sand; U.S. Silica, Frederick, MD, U.S.A.). Clogging growth behaviors in uniformly packed beds are monitored with X-ray CT. A series of column experiments are conducted with X-ray computed tomography (X-ray CT) imaging while varying the flow velocity. The experiment consisted of 6 groups, 3 of which were named LS group, and three were named HS group. Throughout clogging growth, the patterns of clogging are visualized with X-ray CT image analysis. Each longitudinal and horizontal clogging growth behavior is presented as the spatial distribution of mass in the column. -This includes the X-ray CT images for Test1, and links to the datasets of the remaining Test2 to Test6 images.
